Put on your dancing shoes-The Tap Dance is finally open! Our microbrewery and cafe is nestled in the heart of the Finger Lakes region on historic Main Street in Canandaigua, New York.
We pride ourselves on being the lone star in a sea of breweries in town. In addition to creating our own IPA beers and highlighting local brews, we’ve implemented gluten-free beer on tap. Our cafe menu features burgers, vegetables, and dairy products from local farms. We also have a hearty gluten-free menu. Everyone gets a seat at our table!

Never been to a microbrewery before? That’s okay with us! At The Tap Dance, we have tastings every Tuesday to help you learn about different types of beer, their components, and how they work together to get that flavor you love. Our bartenders are all experts in craft beer, and they want to help you become one, too!
Bright and colorful beer tap handles (each created by a local artist) adorn our bar. Ask our bartenders about them-we love to brag about how cool they are! That’s something you’ll find a lot of around here: an emphasis on local talent, community, and culture. While we are a brewery and focus on food and drink, we want to showcase those in our community doing really cool things. We have live music from local artists every Thursday through Sunday. We have art from local artists on our walls. Every Saturday from 8-12 p.m., find us on our dance floor. We are called The Tap Dance, after all!
Microbreweries are really unique. Like the name says, they’re micro. They’re not meant to be large or upscale places. They’re little slices of your local community. When you go into your local brewery, you might find someone you know sitting at the bar. Maybe it’s someone you haven’t seen in years. You strike up a conversation with them, finding yourself reminiscing on old times.
Maybe you go into a microbrewery and you don’t see a familiar face. There’s nothing wrong with that! That’s the beauty of the industry-our small size allows for everyone to feel welcomed. We want to get to know YOU.

We might be pretty biased, but we think it’s awesome to support local businesses. Sure, you could grab some nationally sold beer at the grocery store on your way home from work. Where’s the fun in that? At microbreweries, you can enjoy fresh, local beer and food in a fun environment. Your living room couch gets enough attention! When you shop locally, you’re directly supporting those around you (some of whom you’ve maybe grown up with!), all while helping to create a place that can be enjoyed for years to come. If the COVID-19 pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that local businesses help keep our cities' hearts pumping.
What are you waiting for? Your microbrewery already saved you a seat.
